L’Oeuf is a personal work that reflects very intimate aspects and dialogues with the work of Salvador Dalí. Its most immediate interpretation is through symbolism, which is absolutely central in both the artist’s language and that of the Holy Bible.
.
The dove rising from the tomb carries cypress trees, bells, and a large eye, conveying the idea of death and the disturbing presence of God and his highest angels..
The egg, which gives the work its title, is the strongest and most obvious reference to rebirth, flanked by the body, itself a fragile shell.
.
The image as a whole was inspired by the work of Dalí, the biblical story of 2 Kings 13:21, and Mamoru Oshii’s work, The Angel’s Egg, thus defining itself in an understanding of surrealist, sacred, visionary symbolism and strictly personal references.
